Crystal Morgan
Before receiving her law degree, Crystal worked for years in various areas of law, including family law, criminal law, white-collar crimes, and appellate cases, as a national Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) advocate and expert. Here, she helped legal teams obtain accommodations for clients and served as a paralegal and expert on how to disqualify a judge due to an ADA violation. Many times, this resulted in filing Writs of Mandamus or Prohibition, depending on the jurisdiction. She has also spoken at national conferences regarding the ADA, including a CLE for the combined county Court Judges in El Paso County, Colorado. Crystal was also an intern during her undergraduate degree for the El Paso County Combined Courts.
Crystal worked as a non-attorney advocate in various areas of the law as allowed, while she attended law school. She did such through her company, Colorado Community Advocacy LLC. Each bankruptcy petition she has filed as a document preparer has been accepted by the Court and resulted in a discharge of the debts. Crystal has also been a court-appointed guardian for adults with disabilities and further advocated for children with disabilities in public schools and for their medical and financial benefits. She has been permitted to file Complaints to the State Department of Education and Office of Civil Rights, as well as represent clients in full Administrative Court hearings, before becoming an attorney. In 2016, she was named the Arc of the Pikes Peak Region’s Professional of the Year. In 2014, she was named a “mover and a shaker” by the Colorado Springs Gazette.
During the pandemic, Crystal found herself working in Los Angeles as the supervising attorney for a non-profit in post-conviction and criminal appeals. Her most notable cases were reducing a sentence for robbery from 60 to life to 10 years, expunging Snoop Dog’s record so that he may freely work and travel, and advocating for Tory Lanez in his criminal appeal.
Crystal is new to the Sanders Firm. She strives for equality and fairness in the law. It is her pleasure to serve and make a difference in her clients’ lives.
